In these four programs, which originally aired live, host Barbara Deeb and expert panelists take phone calls and questions on the topics of safety, childhood wellness, brain development, and nutrition and fitness for children from birth to age 3.

Kentucky child care professionals may register to receive credit toward Kentucky licensing requirements for viewing this series and completing the accompanying coursework. (You must have a videotape or DVD copy of the programs.)

Program Descriptions

  1. Safety—focuses on safety issues for young children, such as how infants should be put down to sleep, preventing unintentional injury, and other household safety precautions to take.
  2. Childhood Wellness—examines issues such as the importance of breast feeding, what causes asthma, and normal development.
  3. Brain Development—looks at how caregivers can positively affect children’s brain development, gives hints for how to interact with young children, and provides information on what can happen if children are not treated appropriately.
  4. Nutrition and Fitness—focuses on the impact of breast feeding, when to introduce solid foods to babies, and alternatives to cow’s milk for children who are allergic to it.
