GOING THE DISTANCE is a collaborative educational effort involving more than 69 public television stations and 200 colleges and universities in 43 states. Kentucky Educational Television (KET) and the Kentucky Telecommunications Consortium (KTC) are participants in Going the Distance, which enables busy, working adults to earn the Associate in Arts degree through distance learning telecourses and other technologies. KET College Courses offer convenience and flexibility to students who cannot attend classes on a regular basis. Student surveys indicate that many distance learners may be geographically isolated, lack transportation, or work full- or part-time, while others are disabled, elderly, institutionalized, or homebound for some reason. These students now have the opportunity to complete the Associate in Arts degree through distance learning with limited time spent on campus. Associate in Arts Degree Via Distance Learning

Remaining credit hours may be completed through other methods such as computers, interactive classrooms, satellite delivery, independent study, and traditional classrooms. Students may submit transcripts of previous work for evaluation in meeting degree requirements. The Associate in Arts degree includes courses from the following areas of study:
