How do I register for a KET College Course?
To sign up for a course for college credit, you will need to register through one of the participating colleges or universities. While KET airs the course programs, we cannot register you for the course itself. Our printed course schedule booklet and the college pages on this site include contact information for the person at each college who can get you registered. Check the semester schedules for lists of participating colleges and the courses they are offering.

Why are course programs aired overnight?
While the overnight hours may seem inconvenient for viewing, most KET College Course students say that they prefer to record the course programs with a VCR or DVR and watch them later. With the course programs airing overnight, you can record them without tying up your VCR or DVR during the day. Should your recording fail, there are other options available for you to access the programs.

I missed a program. Can I get a copy from KET?
We are now able to offer several options to students who have missed a program. Please refer to the Missed a Broadcast? page for details.

What channel am I supposed to watch the course programs on?
All of the course programs are aired on KET1. If you watch KET over the air (without cable or satellite), your local channel is listed below. If you have cable or a satellite dish, you will need to check with your programming provider to see which channel it has assigned for KET1. Another option is to check tvguide.com (opens in a new window). Enter your zip code, then select your type of service to find channel numbers on your service.

If I take a KET College Course through one college, can I transfer the credit to another college?
Most colleges will accept these courses as transferable credit. However, it is up to the institution to which you wish to transfer credit. If you are considering transferring a course in the future, please check with the institution you would be transferring the credit TO in advance to find out whether you will receive credit.

Does taking a KET College Course cost the same as taking a regular course?
A college/university generally charges a certain amount of tuition for each course based on how many credit hours it is worth, rather than how the course is delivered. So the fact that the course has a lot of its content delivered through television (instead of on campus) should not cause you to pay higher tuition. However, in some cases a college or university may require additional fees for KET College Courses, such as technology fees or enrollment fees.
