Course Description: Summer 2008
Dollar$ and Sense: Personal Finance for the 21st Century is a one-semester college-level course in financial planning. It provides the information students need to make sound financial choices and determine the best course of action in gathering, protecting, and using their financial assets wisely. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on eight key elements of financial planning: obtaining, planning, saving, borrowing, spending, managing risk, investing, and retirement and estate planning. Dollar$ and Sense was produced in association with Irwin/McGraw-Hill. This course was underwritten, in part, with a grant from The Chase Manhattan Bank.
