Use these helpful tips to achieve more with KET College Courses: Attend the orientation meeting, where the instructor will provide a course syllabus and review course requirements. Most colleges and universities also require a few on-campus sessions during the semester for discussions and exams. Create a self-disciplined study plan. You must devote some quality time to complete a KET College Course successfully. It is not just watching television. Develop a regular schedule so that you can view programs, complete readings, and work on special assignments without distractions. Check the schedule to find your course’s broadcast times. If possible, record the programs for later review. If you miss a broadcast, see what other options are available for accessing the programs. Obtain the required textbook and study guide, as well as any written material from the professor. Textbooks and study guides can be purchased through the college bookstore. Complete the assigned reading before you view each television program. Review the materials after watching the programs. Keep note taking to a minimum while viewing the television programs. Contact the professor by phone or e-mail for assistance if you have difficulty understanding a unit of study. Identify a study partner for each course, or form a small study group of three to five individuals. Review your textbook and read the chapter summaries before reading the textbook chapters. Develop a set of notes for each unit of the course so you can review for examinations without having to read the entire text just before the exam. Develop a vocabulary list of terms that are important to the course, especially those that are unfamiliar to you. Write definitions in your own words and review them often. Study with others by phone or as a group. Review assignments, discuss the television programs, and prepare for examinations. Look for new ways to relate and apply the knowledge you are gaining to work, to interacting with your family and friends, and to developing a better understanding of the world around you. |
