Eating properly is the number-one health challenge that all of us face, because food is never more than an arms reach from any of us.
Whether she is treating patients, helping employees at a Kentucky company, advising readers throughout the nation, or preparing a meal for her husband and three sons, Dr. Rallie McAllister is often focused on nutrition and health. Her passion is helping people understand how they can get healthier and finding the particular way to help each person achieve that goal.
McAllister takes that passion into an unusually diverse number of settings. She is the director of employee health management at Marshall Emergency Services Associates (MESA) in Lexington, where she works to promote health and wellness in Kentucky corporations.
She is also a prolific writer. McAllister is the author of three books, including Healthy Lunchbox: The Working Moms Guide to Keeping You and Your Kids Trim. She reaches millions of readers weekly with her syndicated column, Your Health, and has been featured as a weight loss and nutrition expert in USA Today, Parents magazine, Prevention magazine, Glamour, Better Homes and Gardens, and Redbook. In addition, she serves as a nutrition expert for WebMD, BabyCenter.com, and Parents.com.
McAllister is a board-certified family physician with masters degrees in public health and environmental health. She lives on a small farm in Lexington with her husband and three sons.
