Marvin Mills, Murray State University
Marvin Mills of Lexington was one of the first African-American professors at Murray State University. He has a master of science degree in public health and a doctorate in safety management from New York University. Mills also has been a faculty member, lecturer, or visiting professor at several institutions of higher education. He is active in recruiting minority students to attend Murray, and the school has recognized his efforts by naming its multicultural center in his honor.
