Harry Pickens, jazz pianist

Harry Pickens, an internationally renowned jazz pianist from Louisville, has performed with many of the finest artists in jazz, including Dizzy Gillespie, James Moody, and Milt Jackson, and has been featured on television and radio broadcasts throughout the U.S. and Europe. Recent examples have ranged from Marian McPartland’s PianoJazz on National Public Radio to the WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour, which originates from Lexington’s Kentucky Theater each week and is heard internationally via radio and the Internet and seen on KET on Friday nights.

Pickens has also appeared on KET’s In Performance at the Governor’s Mansion and Mixed Media and taped several instructional segments for the KET Music Arts Toolkit for teachers.

Pickens also presents keynote concerts, workshops, seminars, and residencies internationally, for all ages.
