Jim Embry, Sustainable Communities Network (#318)

Jim Embry, the founder of the Sustainable Communities Network in Lexington, says the efforts of leaders in government, business, education and religion need to integrate to create a truly sustainable community. He talks about the importance of community gardens; the Isaac Murphy Memorial Garden, located in downtown Lexington; Youth Green Corps, which encourages teens to participate in improving their communities’ landscapes; and the Northeast Lexington Initiative, a community enhancement group.
