U.S. Census (#438)
Every 10 years, the U.S. Census gathers data about the entire population of the United States and U.S. territories, providing information about ages, races, ethnic groups, and more. Ben Johnson of the U.S. Census Bureau and human rights activist Sandra Powell discuss the many benefits of an accurate census count, changes from the previous census survey, and job opportunities provided by the Census Bureau.
The guests also look at challenges to obtaining accurate census data, including language and cultural barriers and misconceptions about the confidentiality of the survey.
