Early Childhood Development (#444)
Annette Bridges of the Kentucky Early Childhood Development Program discusses factors that affect learning and development in children from birth to 4 years old, including socioeconomic status. High-quality, well-equipped early childhood classrooms, she says, can make dramatic differences in growth and abilities. Bridges reveals techniques that allow teachers to address the needs of each individual child.
Bridges also discusses the Early Childhood Development Program’s star system for rating child-care facilities, its Healthy Babies campaign, Kentucky’s successes and challenges in the field of early childhood education, and more.
