Marian Wright Edelman, Children’s Defense Fund (#504)
Marian Wright Edelman established the Children’s Defense Fund in 1973 as a voice for poor and minority children. Edelman was interviewed on location at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Frankfort, where she was the keynote speaker on Sept. 11 for first lady Jane Beshear’s inaugural “Graduate Kentucky” School Dropout Prevention Summit.
