Hispanic Heritage Month (#507)
Hispanic Heritage Month, which began on Sept. 15, is a 30-day recognition commemorating the anniversary of the independence of several Latin American countries. Our panel of guests discusses the issues affecting the nation’s largest minority group. Guests are Sandra Powell, chair of the Human Rights Commission in Richmond; Elisa Bruce, Latino development manager for Fifth Third Bank in Lexington; Socorro Zaragoza, assistant professor of Spanish at Eastern Kentucky University, who has done research on black-brown relations; and Juan Peña, field supervisor for the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights.
