Connections with Renee Shaw

Charlie Strong was the third African-American coach at a BCS school and just the second ever in the Big East Conference when he was hired at the University of Louisville last year. He spent seven seasons as the defensive coordinator at the University of Florida, including the last two as the associate head coach.

Born in Batesville, Ark., He lettered four years (1980-83) at University of Central Arkansas. He is he is slated to earn $1.6 million a year over the next five years at the Louisville head football coach.
