Wil James (#705)
Wil James was named president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky in 2010. No stranger to Kentucky, he had worked in a variety of management positions at the Georgetown plant from 1987-2006.
James discusses how Toyota is working to rebuild customer trust, the newly redesigned 2012 Camry that was unveiled in August, and what drives his management and team-focused style.
James returned to Georgetown from the Toyota facility in Evansville, Ind., where he was senior vice president for manufacturing and quality since 2008. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of operations and then president of TABC in Long Beach, Calif., a Toyota subsidiary.
James serves as Toyota's representative on the Board of Affiliates for the National Society of Black Engineers. He is also a member of the Board of Regents for Kentucky State University and serves as chair for Lexington's Arena Task Force.
