Author Danzy Senna (#707)
Danzy Senna was a keynote speaker and presenter at the 2011 Kentucky Women Writers Conference in Lexington. She won acclaim for her first novel, Caucasia (1999), the story of two biracial sisters growing up in 1970s Boston. Senna later wrote Where Did You Sleep Last Night? A Personal History (2009), the story of her own upbringing as the daughter of a white woman with a blue-blood Bostonian lineage and a black man raised by a struggling single mother.
