Yetta Young, executive director of the Lyric Theatre (#721)

Yetta Young, executive director of the Lyric Theatre and Cultural Arts Center, oversees this vibrant hub of artistic and community engagement. The 540-seat theater has a multipurpose conference room and an art gallery; in its role as a community center, it will be hosting its first wedding shortly. The Lyric is also home to the upcoming Duke Ellington Jazz Series.

A long-time producer, Young founded YYP Associates, a production, management, and consulting firm. YYP has been nominated for many awards, including six NAACP theater awards. Notably, YPP orchestrated the deal that put The Pocketbook Monologues on Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Young's YPP directed Mo'Nique in her theatrical debut in the play The Vagina Monologues. Mo'Nique later won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in the movie Precious.
