Janet Steele Holloway (#824)

Janet Steele Holloway grew up in West Virginia and lived in New York for 25 years before returning to the region in 1990. She is president of J. Holloway and Associates and a board member of the Lyric Theatre and the Carnegie Center in Lexington.

Her past work includes teaching high school Spanish and English, working as public relations director for renowned theater producer Jean Dalrymple, and serving as youth worker in East Harlem. She has been state director of both the New Jersey and Kentucky Small Business Development Center Networks.

A Willful Child recounts Holloway's childhood in the mountains of West Virginia in the 1940s and her tumultuous family life there.
