Lexington Artists (#828)
The Lexington Tattoo Project, a collaboration between Kremena Todorova and Kurt Gohde, features a love poem to the city of Lexington by poet Bianca Spriggs. Volunteers have phrases of the poem inked on their bodies, then the tattoos are photographed after their bodies have healed. Ultimately, a short film will be made unveiling a hidden image that can only be seen when each of the 250 tattoos are shown as one image. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2013.
Lexington artist Denise E. Brown tackles sensitive issues of race, class and society on canvas. She also has a collection of poems and new novel in publication.
