Reggie Thomas, Ron Spriggs, Bobby Scroggins (#914)

Reggie Thomas of Lexington won election to the District 13 Senate seat in a special election in December 2013. The Democrat is the first black elected from a majority white district in Kentucky.

Ron Spriggs, a Tuskegee Airmen historian, and artist Bobby Scroggins discuss the contributions of two commanders of the airmen, Gen. Benjamin O. Davis Jr. and Brigadier Gen. Noel F. Parrish, and the two busts created by Scroggins to honor their service. The busts were unveiled recently at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky at Bluegrass Airport. The Tuskegee Airmen paved the way for desegregation of the armed forces in World War II.
