Discussion Guide

The Poof! Discussion Guide (1.2 MB)
Poof! confronts the issues of domestic violence in a way that makes viewers want to talk about what they've seen and its reflection or distortion of how the dynamics of domestic violence play out in real life. Support groups, domestic violence service providers, college classrooms, social workers and community groups are encouraged to use Poof! and this discussion guide as a tool to talk about difficult issues and to take the next steps beyond discussion to make a positive difference in communities.

The discussion guide is in .pdf file format and require Adobe® Acrobat Reader® to view.

The discussion guide references the following clips from Poof! You’ll need RealPlayer® to view these; see the RealPlayer help page for more information.

Domestic Abuse: A Call-In

This program uses KET's American Shorts production of Lynn Nottage's play Poof! to examine domestic abuse. Panelists discuss domestic violence as a community concern, highlight domestic violence services in Kentucky, and point viewers toward KET outreach tools to help them host discussions in their own churches, homes, workplaces, and other community venues.

You’ll need RealPlayer® to view this clip; see the RealPlayer help page for more information.
