Consultant Services
KETs regional Education Consultants are always ready to answer your questions about obtaining and using the resources we offer Kentucky schools. Feel free to contact your consultant for answers to your questions or to arrange an in-school visit. Youll find a list of the consultants, with a map of their regional assignments; phone numbers; and e-mail links on our Education Contacts page.
KET Spring Meetings
In March of each year, KET invites School Coordinators to attend one of the regional KET Spring Meetings, hosted by our Education Consultants at locations around the state. At these meetings, youll view new programs to be broadcast during the upcoming school year, learn about other newly acquired television and online resources, and have the chance to tell us how well we are serving your needs and those of your school.
Resource Book and Planbook
Two annual publications list KETs instructional video offerings for the school year. The KET School Resources book is a catalog organized by curriculum area, with descriptions, schedules, and Kentucky Academic Expectation listings for each series or special. (The contents of this book are also available online in our School Video Resources section.) The Coordinators Planbook/Calendar, laid out in a week-at-a-glance calendar format, contains the KET3 schedule for the year and is for your use in planning recordings. One copy of each book is sent to each public school in Kentucky.
Monthly Calendar Mailing
Each month, KET Education Division Office Manager Rhonda Moberly compiles and mails an instructional television schedule update flier. This calendar lists additions to the schedule given in the Coordinators Planbook, including repeat airings of instructional programs that have been requested by teachers, premieres of KET productions, broadcasts of recently acquired programs, and professional development offerings from the Kentucky Department of Education. The schedule additions are listed online. The monthly mailing may also include other special information for School Coordinators, such as fliers with extended descriptions of new programs; Preview Days schedules; or details on themed block feeds such as Black History Month, Native American Heritage Month, or holiday programming.
Classroom e-News
KET School Coordinators, teachers, and administrators may sign up for KET Classroom e-News to receive periodic e-mail notices of new programs, services, and instructional resources, from schedule updates to information about educational components for PBS programs. The e-News notices can be customized by job title, grade level, or curriculum area.
LMS ListServ
KET also makes use of the Kentucky Library Media Services (KYLMS) listserv to send e-mail bulletins about schedule changes, additional block feeds, technical problems with broadcasts, and other short-notice issues. If you are not already subscribed, you may sign up at the University of Kentucky listserv page.
