Raindrops to Rivers
Presented
on CD-ROM and the web, Raindrops to Rivers is a resource
containing both an electronic field trip and supporting professional development
resources to help teachers in grades 2 through 12 introduce concepts involving
watersheds, water pollution, non point source pollution, and common cures
for everyday sources of water pollution. Raindrops to Rivers
supports the content presented in the Electronic Field Trip to a Watershed
with models of exemplary instruction. Teachers from classrooms throughout
Kentucky illustrate scientific study as well as awareness and prevention of
non point source water pollution. The teachers and students appearing in the
videos are engaged in authentic activities, in both indoor and outdoor classrooms
and at streams, creeks, and other watersheds. In addition to presenting engaging
science lessons, the resource features collaborations between science and
other content areas.
The CD-ROMs were distributed to Kentucky science teachers, and the same content can be accessed online.
