The Sleepover - a Halloween Movie
The Sleepover was a video written produced and created in Arts & Humanities class. Students were all assigned to write a script in Arts and Humanities class. This is one of several videos that were made by students recently. All the scripts had to use certain elements... Genres: Students pick at random: Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Mystery, Thriller, Horror, Suspense, Romance, Comedy. Characters: Must pick two from: Bitsy Ballou, Ignazio del Fuego, Hugh Simon, Shadow (can't talk and nobody can talk to him or her). Props: Must Pick at least two from: Large Suitcase /Brief case, Snow Globe, Shovel, Pipe Cleaners. Lines of Dialogue: Must use at least to use two of the lines from the list: Is that the best you've got? I was lied to and very much deceived. When you say it like that, it's almost poetry. Red, no I said green. I love pie. Alternate idea for a film: There are just a few hours until a terrible something is going to happen. That something could be a meteor from space or the end of the world. You and your fellow students have come to grips with the meaning of life in the time you have left.

This is the very first test of the Withers Cam Camera stabilizer. I have been working on ideas on how to assemble this rig for several years now. A Mural Project
The project began as routine maintenance since Ms. Dressman, Art teacher at Jessie Clark Middle School, sands and refinishes the work tables every couple of years. First came the inspiration to add portraits of animals to hide imperfections in the laminated wood, including a lion, zebra, elephant and giraffe. Next she noticed two stained ceiling tiles, on which students painted butterflies. That led to the rain forest canopy and ultimately the theme "Circle of Life." Notes

Thinking Outside The Box
A video of Erica Withers creating architectural designs in an unconventional way. The first design is made up of all triangles but she is trying to avoid symmetry. The second part of the video utilizes geometric shapes. The goal was to find a way to connect them and create a harmony between all the shapes. The third design is denying the square. Avoiding them by creating shapes joined together as diamonds. The idea is to create a different shape other then a box.

Lucky Number Two
A long time ago a Wizard was trying out a new kind of wand. This wand to us would look just like a number two pencil, but to the wizard it was his favorite wand. The problem with the wand is that it has a mind of its own and likes to wander off through time and space. All those who come in contact with this wand are also subjected to its mischief. The Wizard's young apprentice feels bad when the wand leaves her care and has vowed to find it no matter how many hundreds or thousands of years it will take. This movie was filmed just in a few days by the students of Monticello High School. It is more experimental then anything else. It tries to tie together 10 random lines. The students' theme was Luck and they had to use a pencil. They had a little over 48 hours to make a movie. Notes

Easy Tricks To Make Photos Look Professional Using Photoshop
Two easy tricks using Photoshop that can make your photo look like a pro's. Photoshop, with a few steps, can be used to isolate an area and let that area be color while the rest is converted to black and white. The other trick will show you how to make your small camera with a small lens look like one that was taken by an expensive camera with a long lens. They have that shallow depth of field. You can also create that same effect in just a few clicks and make your photo look like it was taken by a camera that costs much more than many people can afford. Notes

Shovel And The Grail 48 Hour Film Competition
A 48 hour film competition demands that you get your genre, line of dialog to be used in the film, prop element to be used in the film and of course you also have to use a particular character on a Friday night. You then have to write that five or six minute movie that night. The next day you shoot it. That Saturday night you edit it add music and effects and whatever else you want to make it as good as possible. Hopefully you got all the elements that you were supposed to use. The film then is submitted around noon to the Sponsor. Ours was Somerset Community College. They will then have judges look at it and score it and it will be viewed that night with all the others. The group I worked with were some current students and some of my former students. We picked out of a hat Monty Python like film for our GENRE. So knowing this I could not help but think about the Holy Grail. Notes
