On November 5, 2002, Kentuckians cast ballots for one U.S. Senator and six U.S. Representatives. In addition, half the seats in the Kentucky Senate and all seats in the Kentucky House were up for election, and the state’s two largest cities elected mayors. In Louisville and Jefferson County, the 2002 election had added historic significance: Residents there voted in 2000 to merge the city and county governments, and in 2002 they voted for the first members of the merged Greater Louisville Council.

KET reported on all of those races in Election 2002: The Vote. Anchored by Bill Goodman and Renee Shaw, the program features commentary by political observers David Dyche and John McGarvey as well as reports from newsrooms and candidates’ headquarters around the state.
