Four of Kentucky’s 2002 congressional races—for the U.S. Senate and three House seats—included contested party primaries.

KET invited all of the candidates in the contested primaries to participate in televised forums airing live from our studios. Bill Goodman, host of Kentucky Tonight, was the moderator for the forums. A panel of journalists asked questions of each candidate, and candidates had the opportunity to question each other. All candidates who appeared on the Kentucky Secretary of State’s 2002 candidates list were invited to take part.
