Browser Buttons
Let's take a look at the buttons on the menu bar. Throughout this
orientation, we will reference both the Netscape and Explorer
browsers.
Across the top of your browser window is a row of buttons that help you navigate and use Internet sites. The buttons described below are generally used most often during an online training.

Use the Back button to go back to the most recent page that
you have viewed. You can continue to click the button to go
back to earlier pages.
|
![[Forward]](images/ForwardE.jpg) ![[Forward]](images/ForwardN.jpg) |
Use the Forward button to go forward a page. This can be
used only if you have gone back a few pages and then need to
get back to where you were. Try the Back and Forward buttons now.
|
![[Refresh]](images/RefreshE.jpg) ![[Refresh]](images/RefreshN.jpg) |
Clicking the Reloadbutton in Navigator or the Refresh
button in Explorer tells your browser to retrieve the web page again.
|
![[Print]](images/PrintE.jpg) ![[Print]](images/PrintE.jpg) |
The Print button lets you print the web page you are
viewing. Click the Print button now to print this page. You
will probably see a menu of print options; you can click OK to
start printing.
|
![[Search]](images/SearchE.jpg) ![[Search]](images/SearchN.jpg) |
Clicking on the Search button lets you enter keywords to search the Internet for information.
If you are unfamiliar with the Internet, try a search when you have finished this orientation.
Click the Search button on your browser, and type the keywords GED Tests in the box.
Your browser will return a list of links to explore.

How do you keep track of pages that you want to find again quickly? A bit like
putting a bookmark in a book, browsers let you bookmark places on the Internet.
(Some browsers use the term Favorite instead of Bookmark.)
