Graphic Skills on the GED Tests
In today’s world, data is often represented visually for increased impact.
People can grasp the meaning of data more quickly when it is presented
visually.
Pick up a newspaper, such as USA Today, and quickly look through the pages.
What graphics do you see? Most likely you see photos, graphs, tables, charts,
and a weather map of the nation.
Because of the importance of graphics in daily communication and in the
workplace, the GED 2002 Series Tests emphasize them. In fact, many items on
three of the GED Tests are based on graphics or a combination of prose and
graphics:
- 60% of Social Studies Test questions
- 50% of Science Test questions
- 50% of Mathematics Test questions
