With its emphasis on communication, this program reinforces the need for strong reading and writing skills and underscores the idea that individual actions can play a significant role in the community at large. The field trip is correlated to Kentuckys Program of Studies and KELP Indicators.

Visit the field trip web site to find classroom activities that include a vocabulary game and fun ideas for stamps, cards, and letters. The web site also features performance assessments, ideas for cross curricular units, links to additional support materials, and lesson plans. Produced 2005.
