Just for Me is a collection of instructional materials for schools and families. The six video programs and print lessons for classroom use present themes common to many health education texts and widely used drug prevention curricula: handling relationships with family members, peer pressure and support, self-esteem, responsibility for self and others, making decisions, and the influence of the media. After students have viewed the video programs of children about their own age in situations that involve these issues and have participated in the follow-up activities outlined in the teacher’s guide, they will be able to develop the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and behaviors identified by prevention experts as necessary to prevent drug abuse.

Just for Me also includes an inservice component (a 20-minute utilization video program, teacher’s guide, and facilitator*#8217;s manual), a peer component (a peer helper handbook), and a home component (three videos for parents, a parent’s guide, and a parent workshop leader’s manual). Call or e-mail KET Education, (800) 432-0951, ext. 7261, for information on these supplemental materials.
