Filmed amid the natural beauty of the Squam Lake Science Center in New Hampshire, Up Close and Natural is designed to develop young viewers’ awareness and appreciation of and sensitivity to the wonders of the natural world around them. The series explores the center’s lakes, fields, and forests; introduces the animals that live there; and encourages students to sharpen their observation, description, and clarification skills.
