The habits and habitats of animals from around the world are discovered in this series. The programs were shot on location and feature close-up views of animals in the wild as they go about their daily lives.

Each program studies an animal or group of animals; all convey a strong environmental message. Some of the programs take a look at ecological systems, such as life in a tropical coral reef or the plants of the Australian desert, while others study topics like insect disguises or the pollination of plants.
