Esteemed filmmaker Ken Burns’ new series, The National Parks: America’s Best Idea, is a six-part series that takes viewers to spectacular locales - from Acadia to Yosemite, Yellowstone to the Grand Canyon, the Everglades of Florida to the Gates of the Arctic in Alaska - and along the way tells the stories of the people who made America’s these parks a national treasure. Learn more at PBS's National Parks web site.

KET has produced Kentucky’s National Parks to accompany the national series. This resource includes online information and resources relating to five national parks in Kentucky—Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park, Big South Fork, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, Mammoth Cave National Park, and Trail of Tears National Historic Trail. Video segments suited for classroom use and related classroom activities address science, social studies, and arts and humanities content as well as the subject of preserving public lands and their impact on people.
