This dramatization of the epic journey of the Lewis and Clark expedition to explore America’s West is narrated by Sacagawea, the teenage Native American girl who served as guide and interpreter. The programs emphasize the contributions of American Indians to the expedition’s success and introduce the cultures of tribes encountered along the way. They are also rich in information about the wildlife along the route, including many plants and animals that were new to the two Eastern captains, and include detailed maps of the wilderness route of the expedition.
