This 13-part series for middle and high school classrooms introduces broad topics in social studies by exploring the diversity of Earth’s geographic features, natural habitats, cultures, and religions.

101. A Roof Above Our Heads
Visits homes in every corner of the world.
102. And to the Starboard ... the Earth
Why deciduous leaves fall and how latitude affects daylight length.
103. Animal Passion
Visits lands all over the world to see the wealth of animal life, including penguins, cormorants, lions, ring-tailed lemurs, chameleons, the giraffe beetle, and elephants.
104. Basic Necessity
Attitudes toward eating in cultures around the world and the various ways people go about obtaining food.
105. Bridging Gaps
Transport, trade, and contact between different peoples have enabled humans to survive in even the most inhospitable and inaccessible regions.
106. Down by the Riverside
How rivers have shaped landscapes.
107. Exchange and Mart
African carpets, rifles and pistols in Yemen, flowers in Guatemala, fish in Vietnam, seeds and fruit in Madagascar, spices in Zanzibar and India—the whole world is a marketplace.
108. In Search of the Light
Explores Buddhist, Hindu, and animist beliefs as examples of how humans have sought the answers to life.
109. Of Gods and Men
A tour of religious buildings and civil and military monuments around the world, including dolmen, pagodas, temples, shrines, and mosques.
110. The Art of Life
Makes stops in Asia, Africa, and America to discover some trades, occupations, and forms of artistic expression.
111. The Living Planet
Volcanoes, glaciers, and the laurisilva forests represent the work of thousands of years of work by forces that are still shaping and reshaping the Earth.
112. The Winds of Mystery
Sorcerers in Africa and America, narrators of fantastic legends in Asia, and unexpected cults found all over the world.
113. To the Sound of Music
The picturesque dances of Mexico, the profound music of the Mongols, and the skill of the uh la master in Burma are part of the world's rich tapestry of folklore.
