2 May-July 2006 RECC annual meetings 23 statewide meetings that allow KET to connect with a different audience. 3 7/11/06 Visit by Russian journalists Various journalists from former Soviet-block countries visited KET to learn about our current structure. Various KET staff led demonstrations on their specific job responsibilities. Exchanged ideas, common issues, etc. between both groups. 4 7/17/06 Professional development group Hosted video production workshop. KET multimedia professional development event. 125 teachers attended seminars on audio, lighting, editing software, basic videography, script writing, new school software. 7 11/8/06 University of Kentucky Career and Intern Fair Represented KET at a career/intern fair geared specifically to college students in broadcasting and journalism. 8 November 2006 Treasures Tour Statewide events to promote awareness of upcoming KET special highlighting “treasure” spots in Kentucky. A statewide, monthlong series of events that honored the 11 treasure sites as determined by Dr. Thomas Clark. Opportunity to cultivate new donors and volunteers across the state. 10 2/21/07 Junior Achievement Job Shadow Day Exposed area middle school students to various careers in broadcasting. Students toured studio and spent time with KET staff in a variety of broadcast jobs. 13 Ongoing Listening Project Small focus groups in communities across the state to discuss common issues and themes. KET’s executive director travels across the state to meet with small focus groups to discuss the issues important to that specific community. Data is gathered to determine common themes from around the state. Feedback is used to determine upcoming programming opportunities. 14 Ongoing KET tours School groups from all over the state Expose elementary, middle, and high school students to careers in the broadcasting industry. 17 Ongoing All Kentucky public schools Workshops Professional development presentations to Kentucky teachers about how to implement KET EncycloMedia in the classroom.
