Eligibility |
These unpaid internships are available year-round. Up to six interns are needed each semester.
Junior-, senior-, and graduate-level students attending any Kentucky college or university
and Kentucky residents attending a college or university out of state may apply.
10 hours per week (approximately 150 hours per semester) are required, although special
arrangements may be made when school requirements differ.

| Duties |
Interns will work on a variety of administrative tasks covering all aspects of KETs
fund-raising initiatives. While reporting to the director for mid-level giving, interns will
have the chance to spend time with each of the employees of the Commonwealth Fund. Activities
interns will participate in may include the following:
- the planning and organization of direct mail campaigns
- special events planning
- web site development
- premium distribution
- budget planning and strategizing
- information systems planning
- donor relations
- database administration
Interns will not be required to do any direct fund-raising, either by mail or through phone solicitation.
This internship is an opportunity to learn what it is like to run a major fund-raising department
for a large statewide public television network. The emphasis will be on understanding efficient
fund-raising practices and procedures and the management of a nonprofit organization.
