Kentucky Educational Television Foundation has the following part-time, contract position at KET's Network Center in Lexington, Ky.:

Online Communications Specialist

Hours: approximately 20 hrs./wk


Reports To

Communications Manager

Position Purpose

To coordinate, curate, and report on various marketing-related activities on www.ket.org and associated online platforms

Essential Duties

  • Research, analyze and report on data for both www.ket.org and associated online platforms
  • Coordinate and curate KET video on associated platforms including PBS.org and KET’s YouTube channel
  • Coordinate www.ket.org online store, working with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with appropriate colleagues to ensure priorities are followed, art/graphic and technical elements are implemented and deadlines are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with statistics in general and/or working with Web metrics in particular preferred; experience with Google Analytics a plus
  • Must have knowledge of and satisfactory comfort level with various online platforms, although a technical background is not required
  • Must have strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Must have experience working in MSWord and Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of editorial, design, and technical colleagues are required
  • Must be able to work under short deadlines and work on several projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to work on-site
