Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band
A third-generation zydeco artist, Chubby Carrier began his career at age 12 when he started playing drums in his father’s band. The upbeat dance music of his own band, which mixes syncopated drumming, washboard scraping, and amplified accordion with interjections of spontaneous hollering, whooping, moaning, and barking, reflects that musical heritage.
