The Grascals

The Grascals’ emergence in 2004 signaled the convergence of a group of musicians whose roots and crossed paths already extended back to more than two decades of performing in bluegrass ensembles, including the Osborne Brothers, Larry Cordle & Lonesome Standard Time, the Sidemen and New Tradition. For the past three years, the group has also collaborated with legends such as Bobby Osborne, Dolly Parton, George Jones, the Jordanaires, Lloyd Green, and Paul Craft. Citing these collaborative associations as a key to the group’s richly seasoned sound, the Grascals perform a well versed array of classic tunes and originals that display a depth of song-craft knowledge and masterful musicianship.

The group features Terry Eldredge on guitar and vocals, fiddle player and Garth Brooks’ band veteran Jimmy Mattingly, Jamie Johnson on harmony vocals and guitar, Danny Roberts on mandolin, bassist Terry Smith, and new banjo player Aaron McDaris, who joined the group in 2007.

With two Grammy-nominated releases, The Grascals (2005) and Long List of Heartaches (2006) and having won the IBMA’s Emerging Artist of the Year award in 2005 and the Entertainer of the Year honor a year later the group continues to develop in its growing mastery of bluegrass music, enriching it’s approach to recording and performing through collaboration and bringing brilliant concerts to audiences everywhere.
