Fans of old-time, classic bluegrass music in the tradition of Bill Monroe or Flatt and Scruggs will be happy to know that the genre is alive and well, thanks to some young purveyors of that timeless sound. Crossroads and Shadetree Bluegrass demonstrate their devotion to tradition not only in their sound, but also in their stage attire—which is complete with cowboy hats and string ties.

Crossroads hails from Northern Kentucky, while Vince Combs and Shadetree Bluegrass are from Xenia, Ohio. Their rousing Jubilee performances, taped at the Osborne Brothers Hometown Festival in Hyden, KY, are sure to please fans who can’t get enough of classic bluegrass’ unmistakable blend of banjo, mandolin, and spirited vocal harmony.
