For more than 50 years, Enoch and Margie Sullivan and members of their family have dedicated their lives to performing bluegrass gospel. The Alabama-based group serves up selections from its decades-long repertoire of Southern gospel favorites in this Jubilee performance.

In addition to recording dozens of albums during their long career, the Sullivans headlined two popular and long-lasting radio shows in Jackson, MS and Thomasville, AL, then went on to star in a highly rated television program in Jackson. Despite this media success, the group’s true passion is live concerts. The family has performed at thousands of small churches around the world as well as at major bluegrass festivals in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands.

The Sullivan Family’s Jubilee performance, taped at the Osborne Brothers Hometown Festival in Hyden, KY, captures the group’s driving energy and inspiring musical storytelling. For example, one of the Sullivans’ biggest hits, “Old Brush Arbor”—an original composition by Margie Sullivan—re-creates a sense of bygone times, commemorating a practice once common in Alabama of holding Christian revival services in the rural countryside under tree-branch structures to shade the attending worshipers.
