One of the most exciting young zydeco musicians of the 1990s, Chubby Carrier has performed throughout the United States and in Canada and Europe with his Bayou Swamp Band.

Carrier is a third-generation zydeco artist, having begun his career at age 12 when he began playing drums with his father’s band. His own band’s upbeat dance music, which mixes syncopated drumming, washboard scraping, and amplified accordion with interjections of spontaneous hollering, whooping, moaning, and barking, reflects his musical heritage.

Band members include Earl Sally on rubboard, Corey Duplechin on bass, drummer Lupe Valdeviez, and guitarist Dwayne Paul Dugas. Chubby and the band have released five CDs, including Boogie Woogie Zydeco, Too Hot To Handle [Live], It’s Party Time!, and Ain’t No Party Like a Chubby Party!
