Harold Loomis, a native of Galveston, TX, has been performing since age 14 with his parents. At just 17, he appeared at the world-famous Delta Blues Festival. His mentor, Bo Diddley, encouraged Loomis to “innovate, don’t imitate.” So the talented teenager began writing, arranging, and performing his own material, rooted in the blues traditions of Johnny “Clyde” Copeland, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, and Albert Collins. His first CD, titled simply Hamilton, received a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album of the Year.

Despite the early notoriety, this 20-something Texas sensation has kept his feet firmly on the ground. He explains, simply, “I love playing the music I write, and I love being with people.”
