The Roys is made up of siblings Lee and Elaine, who were born in Massachusetts and raised across the border in Canada. Lee learned to play drums, bass and mandolin as a child and joined his first bluegrass band when he was nine. Elaine, who learned guitar and began singing at the age of five, made her first on-stage appearance when she was 10. The duo lives in Nashville, where they make music that’s a blend of bluegrass, country, folk, roots and gospel.

Married couple Darin and Brooke Aldridge is an acoustic duo from Cherryville, N.C. They have been nominated for the IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year award two years in a row, and the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music has nominated them for gospel group, album and song of the year accolades. Their music is a blend of gospel and bluegrass, and their fans have dubbed them the “sweethearts of bluegrass.”

The Bankesters is a family band from Illinois made up of Phil and Dorene Bankester and their three daughters and son-in-law. They are currently at work gathering material for a new album tentatively slated for a fall 2013 release. In 2012, Emily Bankester was awarded the first IBMA Momentum Award for Vocalist of the Year.
