Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers

Jimmy Thackery has been known in guitar circles since the mid-1970s, when he broke out with his blues band the Nighthawks. Through many lineup changes and sideman gigs since then, he has become a master of the frets. With his three-piece band, the Drivers, Thackery is once again commanding the stage with his intense six-string abilities.

Thackery and company play a brand of blues that is both hard-driving and deeply felt. Inspired by such legendary players as Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, Otis Rush, and Muddy Waters, Thackery is establishing himself as a future influence for other young guitarists.
