Stillwell-Rodenberg & Company

Stillwell-Rodenberg & Company, a four-piece band based in Evansville, IN, came together in July of 1997 when Tommy Stillwell and Carl Rodenberg found themselves working on the same recording project. Considered two of the city’s most prominent bluesmen, Stillwell and Rodenberg joined forces, and their separate styles have seamlessly coalesced into a fresh and contemporary blues sound.

Since forming, the band has set a rigorous pace, playing dates throughout the U.S. and recording tracks for its debut CD, Troubles Wall to Wall, and the live set Souled Out to the Blues. Stillwell, Rodenberg, and their bandmates have shared the stage in concerts and at festivals with such headliners as Buddy Guy, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Larry McCray, Chris Duarte, Son Seals, and Bernard Allison.

S-R&Co.’s music is a blend of original material and the band’s arrangements of popular blues standards. Stillwell’s and Rodenberg’s individual writing styles have fused together to create a distinctive brand of blues-based popular music. Rodenberg’s vocal and keyboard work also have drawn comparisons to greats such as Charles Brown, Ray Charles, and Dr. John. And Stillwell’s abilities on guitar, along with his dynamic vocal style, have earned him a reputation as one of the most explosive performers of his musical genre.

With their outstanding musicianship reinforced by the driving rhythms of Fred Bassett on bass and Danny Erkman on drums, Stillwell-Rodenberg has emerged as one of the hottest tickets in any town.
