Pine Mountain Railroad
With a lineup of avid bluegrass devotees, Pine Mountain Railroad conveys a sound that ponders deep on the high and lonesome tradition and favors the type of harmony only found in such familial camaraderie. Most of the group grew up singing in church, while an early and innate acumen for the bluegrass style developed in each of these seasoned players as they discovered the work of Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys, Flatt & Scruggs, the Osborne Brothers, Jimmy Martin, Red Allen, Reno & Smiley, Jim & Jesse, and the Stanley Brothers.
Now consisting of six-members, the line-up features Cody Shuler on mandolin, Bill McBee on bass, Matt Flake on fiddle, Mark Cable on rhythm guitar, Eli Johnston on lead guitar, and Elmer Burchett, Jr. on banjo. With the release of “Alone with Forever” in March 2007, their seventh album to date and a follow up to the acclaimed “Heartache & Hope,” the group has consistently garnered a great deal of attention from the bluegrass community for its steadfast performances both in the studio and on stage. The group’s work has found its way to the top ten on national bluegrass charts several times, and audiences around the world have had the chance to enjoy their spirited brand of traditional bluegrass.
