Stacy Mitchhart and Blues-U-Can-Use (#121)
Mitchhart and Blues-U-Can-Use keep the house rockin with their Bourbon Street blues.
When blues is mentioned in Cincinnati, invariably Stacy The Blues Doctor Mitchhart is one of the first names to come out of peoples mouths. Mitchhart and his band, Blues-U-Can-Use, are household names in his hometown, where Stacy started playing professionally at age 14. Now you can find them most nights at the Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar in Nashville (recipient of the National Blues Foundations Blues Club of the Year award in 2000), where they continue to earn accolades and draw countless fans as the house band. They bring their rockin sound to Jubilee with a performance recorded at the 2001 W.C. Handy Blues Festival in Henderson, KY.
Mitchhart, who has five albums to his credit, has performed with the likes of Koko Taylor, Eddie Shaw, Junior Wells, H-Bomb Ferguson, Tab Benoit, and many others. As he tells it, My style of music, along with the Blues-U-Can-Use, is kind of R&B blues. Weve been likened to Stevie Ray Vaughan, but I feel were more Hendrix-rockish.
