David Parmley, Scott Vestal, and Continental Divide (#205)
A Nashville-based bluegrass band.
Bluegrass band Continental Divide brings an exciting blend of traditional and contemporary bluegrass and pure country music to the stage. The members of this versatile and talented Nashville-based group have played with such notable bluegrass bands and individuals as the Bluegrass Cardinals, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Del McCoury, Bobby and Sonny Osborne, and Béla Fleck.
Continental Divide features David Parmley on guitar, Scott Vestal on banjo, Mike Anglin on bass, Randy Kohrs on dobro (respohonic guitar), and Rickie Simpkins on mandolin and fiddle.
Parmley says the band owes its diverse music to the wide musical interests of the individual members. Basically, our music is whatever we like to do [at the time were performing], he adds. Our shows are not pre-planned.
Previous performances by Continental Divide on Jubilee have included an interesting combination of tunes, including Someone Took My Place with You, One More Night with You, Youre Going To Miss Me When Im Gone, Somehow Tonight, and Nine-Pound Hammer. This set also includes several fast-moving instrumental numbers, including Fireball and Foggy Mountain Special.
